THY KINGDOM COME PART III “TAKING BACK TERRITORY” JANUARY 13-14, 2018 INTRODUCTION Prayer is something almost all of us do sometime but few of us feel like we do it well. Luke 11:1-2, His disciples came to Him and said, “Lord, teach us to pray…” Praying together is important. When we gather we grow. I. GATHERING WITH PURPOSE Acts 13:1-4, “…While they were ministering to the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, ‘Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.’ Then, when they had fasted and prayed and laid their hands on them, they sent them away.” This is a prayer meeting that changed the world. First time the church did what it was supposed to do. People are gathered together. They are “ministering to the Lord.” Matthew 18:19-20 - Jesus made a promise They are gathered with a purpose, intentional and focused. Are you intentional about your prayer? Are you willing to obey if He speaks? II. HEALING PRAYER Healing prayer is intentional. We do it with the purpose of seeing people healed. John 15:4-11, “Remain in me, and I will remain in you…”
The word is meno = to abide or stay in Nine times Jesus says to remain…why would He say that unless we wander? The choice is ours. Lives that matter take breakthrough, intentional times of prayer. III. WARFARE PRAYER Enforcing Jesus’ kingdom in situations and circumstances. Revelation 12:17, “So the dragon was enraged…and went off to make war with the rest of her children, who …hold to the testimony of Jesus.” Luke 10:19, “I have given you authority…to overcome all the power of the enemy…” Demons know Christians have that authority and power. Resist and fight back! Luke 8:27-30 - Jesus commanded this spirit to leave but it didn’t immediately - pray with purpose. 1. We renounce our part 2. Then identify what we are dealing with 3. Break the hold through prayer 4. Bring the work of the cross to bear proclaiming in prayer the victory of the cross. CLOSE Freedom is your birthright as a Christian. Galatians 5:1, “It is for freedom that Christ set you free…”
