TIMBER BLADE PANEL INSTALL + CARE

TIMBER BLADE PANEL INSTALLATION

• The standard color of the ecoustic® Timber Blade Panel hanging brackets is black. Using color matched black screws to install the panels further conceals the installation fixtures. • Simply screw between the blades through the hanging bracket into structurally adequate stud framing, furring channels or substrate. • 106.3” x 12” panels: 4 Timber Blade Panels per box. Integration of lighting and mechanical: Since the blades are solid wood it should be relatively straightforward to fabricate apertures within the blades to accommodate services. Recommended best practice: • Locate apertures within areas of the tiles between the black aluminum hanging rails, to ensure that rails are located either side of the aperture. • Black fabric scrim can be cut with a surgical style (eg ‘Stanley’) knife or similar. • Drill or cut from the exposed bottom face of the tile toward the concealed upper face, to reduce the possibility of exposing any chipped surface. • Care should also be directed toward isolation of the blades (& attached ceiling grid) from any vibrating mechanical service to avoid unnecessary noise. This could be achieved via an absorptive gasket or membrane (eg cork or rubber). • It is possible to mount air-conditioning outlets to the blade system- assuming the scrim is removed- however this is not recommended, and consideration must be given to the resulting reduced air flow- as the blades will typically obstruct >50% of the duct opening.

TIMBER BLADE PANEL CARE • The Timber Blades and Panels are a natural material and the lifespan of our coatings will vary depending on the application, situation, and installation. • Maintenance of the ecoustic® Timber Ceiling Blades and wall Panels varies according to the coating and the application. ecoustic® Timber Ceiling Blades and wall Panels are pre-finished in internal grade coatings, periodic dusting should keep the panels looking their best. • Should the blades or panels require cleaning, we recommend wiping the panels down with a clean damp cloth. If the blades or panels are subjected to any moisture, please wipe them down immediately. Internal blades and panels should NOT be wet down or hosed, as this will negatively impact the coating. • Blades and panels may be better cleaned with a soft brush and vacuum, taking care not to bruise the wood during the process.
