Tips for a Successful 2016 Neighborhood Clean-up Event: Suggestions:
Make sure all your neighbors are informed about the Clean-up day (Flyers, email, newsletter, word of mouth). Does anyone need assistance in disposing of their items? Any elderly person who could use help? Involve volunteers to assist in cleaning specific areas (along storm drains, after county crews collect brush, etc), and helping those in need. Make it a community effort. You may want to ask a local retailer or church congregation to donate T-shirts for your volunteers. They might also donate some snacks and granola bars. On the day of the event, make sure everyone of your volunteers has gloves, safety vests, enough water, and clear instructions what to do. Maybe you want to take pictures of the volunteers in action that we can use in future flyers. Those volunteers are your responsibility. Tell your neighbors to donate items in good conditions to their favorite non-profit or church groups.
Let us know:
The day of the Clean-up is May 21Th. Changing dates might interfere with other planned events by this office. We hope that this date is good for your civic association. Only those residential households serviced by the County’s trash service will be included. Apartments and condominiums are not included. Any questions?
