Noonway Four Weekers! We’ve all had a great time here over the last thirty or so days, and we know that all of you campers have as well. We hope that you’ve taken advantage of all that is available on this Great Peninsula, and that you’ve had, so to speak, the times of your lives! Whether it was kayaking, soccer, creative arts, fishing or just hanging out with friends—we are sure you will savor the memories all year round. When you develop your film from this summer, send Camp doubles of all your great shots! We have a running photo album, and if you’re lucky, your snapshots may even end up on the Internet! Also, make sure that your parents send in their enrollment deposits soon. Space next summer will be limited, and we want to make sure that there’s a bunk reserved for you. Stay in touch, Adirondackees and we’ll see you soon -Sirs Andy and Matt

The Search For Herbie: First Session 1998 Report By Peter Markow The second annual fishing contest, “The Search For Herbie,” is well under way. Herbie, a large mouth bass reported to be over 36 inches long, still remains uncaught. However, between early morning fishing twice a week (6:30 – 7:30 a.m.) and two daily fishing classes, many fish have been caught by many campers and staff. Jake O’Hara was leading the large mouth bass division with a 12-inch fish until Lucy McGirr pulled in a 12-1/2 inch fish. Artyom Kretov leads the small mouth bass division with a 10-inch fish. Ian Bumgardner has a 9-inch rock bass followed by Simon Bumgardner and Wiley Acevedo each with an 8-1/2 inch rock bass. Ian also leads the sunfish division with a 6-1/2 inch fish. Other regular early morning anglers include: Drew Tunney, T.J. David, Nick Clark, Eric Markow, Stephen Holland, John Arthur Greene, Sybil Bunn,

Danny Licker, Shawn Wilkenson, Eddie Johns (who reported boating a 12+ inch bass), Thomas Wunderlich, Amanda Young, Matt Macrini and Luke Cohen. “Sir” Clark Briggs leads the counselor “Search” with a gorgeous 15-1/2 large mouth bass caught and released off Waterski Dock. Joe Cherubino, Jeb Gorham, Paul Heron and others have been doing a fine job keeping worms on and lines untangled. The Search For Herbie continues...

Swimming By Claire Markow What improvement has been had in all swimmers these first four weeks! Many awards were given and several American Red Cross Levels achieved. We are proud of everyone. From early Polar Bear dips to Island and Triangle Swims, to Scuba demonstrations, to Baywatch training, we have enjoyed being in the cool, clear waters of Lake George! A great big HOW! to all counselors and campers for a wonderful swimming program!
