TOWN OF FRONT ROYAL ASSISTANT PURCHASING AGENT General responsibilities will be assisting the Purchasing Manager in complex professional work for procurement of goods and services following the Town of Front Royal procedures and procurement manual, as well as the Virginia Public Procurement Act. This position will prepare weekly vouchers, assist with the preparation of solicitations and daily errands. Assist with pre-bid meetings, opening of bids, obtaining written quotes from vendors, researching specifications. Collection vendor data/W-9’s, reconciling of monthly statements/invoices, and communication with others regarding procurement and other Town related services. An Associate Degree is required along with equivalent education, training, and experience to a Virginia Contracting Associate or Certified Professional Public Buyer; certification will be required within one year. Additionally, two years of progressively responsible municipal finance and/or procurement work and possession of appropriate driver’s license issued by the Commonwealth of Virginia. General knowledge of public finance and computerized financial applications; specifically, SunGard Community & Finance Plus. Salary begins at $18.30 DOQ.
