TRAVELLING TO AND FROM THE ISLAND The retreat runs from Sunday to Saturday weekly. The pick up point for transfer to the Island is from the harbour at Oreoi on Sunday at 12 midday. At the end of the retreat on the Saturday, we will transport you by boat to Oreoi in order to catch the 1pm bus to Athens or taxi to Volos airport. The Bus arrives in Athens at 5pm. It takes half an hour by bus or taxi to the airport. When you are booking your return flight, please allow enough time for you to catch your outbound flight.

GETTING TO GREECE There are two airports that can be used to reach the island. These are:

VOLOS: The airport you need to fly into is Volos Central Greece Airport, Nea Anchialos National Airport. Airlines that fly into Volos are: • •

Once in Volos, it is a half-hour drive from the airport to the little mainland coastal town of Glyfa. From there you will need to take the ferry from Glyfa to Agiokampos on Evia. It is then 5 minutes drive to the harbor at Oreoi. We can arrange a taxi to collect you from the airport. This is a 90 min to two hour journey. •

ATHENS: The airport you need to fly into is Athens International Airport, Elefthérios Venizélos. http://www.athensairport-2001.gr/ For direct travel from the UK, we recommend one of the following flights allowing you to go straight to the bus stop from the airport: • •

Aegean Airways has a flight with an arrival time of 4am. British Airways has a flight with an arrival time of 2:30am

Alternatively for those wanting to spend some time exploring the incredible sights there are many other airlines and flights into Athens. We are happy to help with accommodation recommendations (see below). Just remember you need to catch the early bus on Sunday morning to Oreoi, if you have not arranged private transport with us. We recommend that you use the ATM machine as there isn’t one at the bus stop or in our local village. The journey from Athens to the island takes 4 hours.

ONCE YOU ARRIVE IN ATHENS: Private transport to the island: We can arrange private transfers from Athens directly to Oreoi upon request. This will take 3 hours and includes a ferry crossing. If we get more that one request we will let all parties know, so that you can share the cost. If you would like us to arrange a transfer please make sure you send us all your flight details. We will need: Flight number, arrival time and departing city.

Public transport to the island (we highly recommeded this route): From Airport to Bus Terminal B. - By taxi You can take a taxi from the airport to the bus station which will cost €35.00. There is a taxi rank outside the airport and make sure you have agreed on the price before departing. If you arrive after midnight (12 midnight until 5am) it will cost €55.00 as they have a night meter. Tell the Taxi driver you would like to go to Bus Terminal B on Liosion Street for buses to Evia. Print this off and give it to the Taxi / bus driver:

Tel: 210 8311434 From Airport to Bus Terminal B - By airport bus As you come out of the airport turn to your left, past the taxi rank toward the bus stops. Look for the airport express bus X93, which will take you to the Liosion bus stop terminal. The bus leaves the airport terminal every 35 minutes (every 65 minutes at night). The ticket costs €3 for a one-way ticket. Please see the light blue line on the map below. It is very important to ask the bus driver to let you know once you have reached the Liosion bus terminal stop as it is unmarked and you cannot see it from the bus. Once you get of the bus at the bus stop, turn right and walk a few meters and you will see it in front of you.

AT THE BUS STOP: Once at the bus stop, you can buy your ticket from the ticket booth, which will be the second one on your right. Buy a ticket for Oreoi on Evia. You can only buy a one-way ticket and it costs €16.00. There is no ATM machine at the bus stop, so make sure you get cash at the airport. There are 3 busses to Oreoi - This trip will take 4 hours and includes a ferry crossing. The first bus leaves for Oreoi at 6:45am, then 12:45pm and last bus 2:45pm. To get to the island for the 12pm pick up you will need to take the 6:45am bus. This is a great trip, very scenic and gets you into the holiday mood. You stop along the way at a rest stop and you get to travel on a ferry! Once you arrive at the ferry crossing – approximately 1.5 hours into the journey. Please buy your ferry ticket from the small kiosk on your right as the bus pulls in it costs €3.40. Just follow the crowd! You will be on the ferry for an hour. Refreshments are available on the ferry. Arriving in Adipsos walk off the ferry and get back on the bus and make sure you keep hold of your ticket. From there it will take about half an hour to get to Oreoi, please ask the conductor to let you know when you get there. As you come into Oreoi you will be able to see the island from the bus on your left. You can only buy single bus tickets to Oreoi. We will buy your return bus ticket for you. We can also help you arrange your return journey when you are here with us as you may meet people who want to share getting back. Once you arrive in Oreoi, Lissa or Corne will be there to meet the bus. You will have an hour to buy any last minute essentials, explore the village and have a frappe, before heading to the island.
