Property Description Trinidad Lake Estates Tract 19 37 Acres Tall Pines Fisher's Peak/Raton Mesa Views This beautiful 37 acre property is located in the historic Long’s Canyon area of Las Animas County which is west of Trinidad off of Highway 12 about 7 miles to the entrance then south into Long’s Canyon about 4-5 miles off of County Road 53.1. It’s just about as far as you can go on County Roads. Trinidad Lake Estates is mostly undeveloped and power is only a short ways into the ranch so if you are likely the sounds of a more remote property that is still pretty easy to get to this would be just perfect for you. The terrain is very hike-able yet has plenty of character. And it has really nice tree coverage with not too much ground cover so its pretty easy to get around. I love the meadows that it opens up in to also. Feels like you just wander from meadow to meadow so it’s private yet open. There is a nice mix of Pinon and Ponderosa Pines with Juniper trees. Some of the Ponderosa Pines are nice sized old growth pines and just absolutely beautiful. There are really nice views of Fishers Peak and the Raton Mesa also. This ranch is in the area south of Highway 12 that was originally part of the old Maxwell Spanish Land Grant which I think is really pretty neat. A lot of history from the old Spanish occupied days in the area as well as the native american history. I did notice a lot of wildlife sign too on this property and with the area being more remote it looks to be a good property to hunt on. It’s about 6-7 miles north of the New Mexico border which adjoins Ted Turner’s Vermejo Park Ranch where there are huge herds of elk. There is power I think just about a little less than 1 mile away…which means that it would run $20-25,000 to bring in power unless you had some neighbors wanting to join you in the cost of pulling in the power. So if you planned to build you might elect to put in solar and not have any power bills. Or maybe you would just camp on the property occasionally in an RV or a Camping Cabin. If this sounds interesting to you give us a call and let’s go explore it more and see what it has to offer. We would love to show you this wonderful property!
