Area History Grays Inn One of the four remaining Inns of Court, along with Lincolns Inn, the Middle Temple and the Inner Temple, where lawyers have traditionally lived and studied, Grays Inn was founded as a hospitium for lawyers c. 1370 and named after Sir Reginald de Grey, chief justice of Chester, who lived on a manor house on the site.
