FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 03/24/2016 REILLY O’CONNOR NAMED TRUE NORTH LACROSSE DIRECTOR Georgetown Grad, NLL Pro and Hill Academy Coach named new Lacrosse Director

2 year team captain, O’Connor will take over TNLC Oakville, ON – True North Lacrosse today announced Reilly O’Connor as their new lacrosse director for the upcoming 2016 Spring-Summer season. O’Connor will oversee the growth and development of the Canadian based club lacrosse program that is headed by lacrosse star, Brodie Merrill. O’Connor, a native of Brooklin, Ontario and product of Whitby Minor Lacrosse boasts an impressive lacrosse background that makes him a perfect fit for True North Lacrosse, a program that recently introduced club teams in 2015. A recent graduate of Georgetown University, Reilly played four years for the Hoyas, including two as team captain. Reilly was also named the team’s most outstanding offensive player and received the team’s leadership award. O’Connor was selected by the NLL Calgary Roughnecks in the 1st round of the 2015 NLL Draft, 7th overall. As a rookie, in 12 games this season, Reilly has tallied 5g, 21 assists with 45 SOG while scooping 37 LB. Prior to being drafted, O’Connor won two Minto Cups with his hometown Whitby

Warriors and was named the league’s most outstanding player, first team all-star and led Jr.A in scoring. In 2012, Reilly represented Team Canada at the U19 World Championships, where he was named to the All-World team as an attackman.

O’Connor celebrates his 1st professional goal An alumnus of the prestigious Hill Academy, Reilly returned this year to assume a coaching role with The Pride. The #1 ranked prep school team in North America recently returned from their Spring Break trip, amassing a total record of 5-0 (Varsity) and 7-0 (JV) playing against top ranked Mid-Atlantic prep schools. Reunited with former coach and mentor Brodie Merrill, Reilly has thrived this year in a coaching capacity where he trains and develops many of Ontario’s top student athletes. True North Owner and Hill Academy Lacrosse Director, Brodie Merrill, coached Reilly for two seasons at the Hill Academy and was instrumental in his development and recruitment to his alma mater, Georgetown University. Merrill has seen Reilly mature and develop from high school student, to college athlete, to competitor now in the NLL. When the opportunity to bring Reilly on board with True North Lacrosse presented itself, Brodie knew that Reilly would be the perfect fit. "We are excited to expand Reilly's role with True North. Reilly has been a leader at every level throughout his career. He has a unique passion for the game and thinks the game at an extremely high level--these qualities really come through in his coaching. He will be a great example for all young lacrosse players in the True North program. " Effective immediately, Reilly will assume the position with True North Lacrosse. The True North Lacrosse Club is a youth lacrosse program in Ontario that develops high calibre student athletes and helps them to reach their maximum potential on the field and in the classroom. The True North Lacrosse Club will serve as an affiliate and development program to the Edge Lacrosse program and the Hill Academy that promotes elite student athletes and provides them opportunities to play in high profile recruiting tournaments in front of college recruiters and coaches. True North Lacrosse Club will proudly support the Chris Sanderson Memorial Trust. True North Lacrosse will offer teams at U9, U11, U13 and U15 this season.
