October 18, 2017 Dear Nokomis Parents & Guardians, Our annual Halloween Costume Parade and Classroom Parties are quickly approaching and with these memorable events come much planning and excitement. Our parades and parties will be held on Tuesday – October 31st.

Parade Start Time: 10:00 a.m. (parade will start and end in front of Nokomis Elementary School) Party Time: 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Costume “Do’s & Dont’s”      

Students in grades K-2 are asked to wear their costumes to school Students will need to bring a change of clothes and a bag for their costume. Students will change after their party and before lunch/recess. Many costumes may have accessories, but please do not send in any item that might be perceived as a weapon (no toy guns, swords, bats, chains, etc.) Please be aware that your child’s teacher will not be able to apply make-up If a mask is worn it should allow for your child to have clear vision Please make sure that both your child’s costume and footwear are appropriate for walking along the parade route

Although our parade and classroom parties are fun we do need to celebrate safely. Only designated room parents will be permitted in the classrooms on party day. These individuals will be required to sign in at the main office. Thank you again for your cooperation and for making sure that our annual Halloween events are filled with wonderful memories! If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me at 654-0991 ext. 502 or via email [email protected]. Sincerely,

Carole Ramage Director of Curriculum/Nokomis School Principal
