Dear Soccer Parents and Players, Welcome to Tupelo Fútbol Club’s Academy Program - our developmental program for Under 9 and Under 10 players who are serious about their soccer and overall development. The program is intended to offer players and parents an opportunity to bridge the gap between the recreational soccer and select (travel) soccer programs. Our Academy players and their families will embark on a soccer journey preparing them for our future Tupelo Fútbol Club’s Select soccer program beginning with the Under 11 age group. Training instruction and priorities will be under the direction of the TFC Director of Coaching and experienced professional coaching staff. The major emphasis will be on the individual player’s growth; we will focus on mastering skills and techniques first, and then applying them in competition. Match results are NOT the primary focus of this advanced program; rather, it is the player’s development that will be our goal, giving them the tools to progress comfortably into the Select soccer environment. The Academy program is more expensive and requires a more serious commitment than our recreational program (players in the academy program will not participate in the recreational program). However, players in the U9 and U10 age group are in the “critical stages of development.” This program is designed for players who are interested in becoming their best in soccer. Players will enjoy the training and the games, while parents will see the wonderful improvement as they grow through the U9 and U10 TFC Academy program experience.

ADDITIONAL FEES The emphasis of the program is not winning games and divisions, but the individual development of each player. Team and player pool placement will be based primarily on ability level of the individual player, among a variety of other factors. Academy program players practice twice per week. The majority of games are scheduled on Saturday. Games on Sundays typically kickoff on or after 1:00pm. U9 and U10 teams play 25 minute halves for their games. The fall season runs from August to November while the spring season runs from February to May. In addition to regular season games, there will be opportunities for players to play in tournaments throughout the year. Some players born in 2010 are eligible to participate in the Academy program. Interested parties are encouraged to speak to the TFC Director of Coaching, Christian Dane.

- Parks and Recreation fee is paid separately. Also, additional tournament fees, including the coach’s expenses, are paid separately - these fees are split equally among the families.
