Our gorgeous waterfront campus in Biddeford, Maine, offers more than 4,000 feet of scenic shoreline where the Saco River flows into the Atlantic Ocean. The coastal area has a long history as a popular vacation destination, and is home to friendly, welcoming people who appreciate UNE's contributions to the local community. Within its 540 acres, the Biddeford Campus offers the Harold Alfond Center for the Health Sciences, a modern science education facility; the Marine Science Center, where students prepare for the marine careers of the coming "ocean century"; and the Harold Alfond Forum, which includes an NHL-size hockey arena, performance and other athletics facilities. Camp Information

Camp Staff •Ashley

Potvin-Fulford

Camp Director/ Head Women’s Rugby Coach Ashley is an active advocate in the community for girl’s and women’s athletics and has an extensive coaching background with girls and women ages 5-24. Ashley will be working on basic all-around skills with the athletes along with coordinating camp’s daily activities. •Will Fulford Coach/Running technique specialist Will brings an extensive coaching background with experience at all levels in track and field. He specializes in distance running and will be working with athletes to maximize their speed by improving running technique. •Patty Williams Coach/ Assistant Director of Athletics for Club and Intramural Sports Patty is currently the Intramurals and Club Sports Coordinator at UNE. She has a very athletic background and will be the primary organizer of games and contests within the camp.

•Lyndie Kelley

Coach/ Coordinator of Strength and Conditioning Lyndie is a certified strength & conditioning specialist (CSCS) and personal trainer (CPT) through the National Strength & Conditioning Association (NSCA), as well as certified in both Level 1 & Level 2 of the Functional Movement Screen. At camp, Lyndie will be working with athletes on the basic elements of strength and conditioning. Lyndie will also be working with athletes on basic tools for injury prevention. •In addition to our coaching staff, UNE athletes and coaches will aide in special games, activities, and serve as counselors.

Who? All girls entering grades 2-8. All abilities welcome.

What? A camp designed specifically to help build strength, agility, athleticism, and confidence among young female athletes.

4:30pm- camper drop off/ team building activity

4:45pm- split into small groups: agility training, running/sprinting technique, basic strength training, hand/eye coordination activity

Why? Women’s sports have more TV coverage

than they ever have. Many sports across the country have rising numbers of participants, particularly with girls. Our goal is to help encourage healthy practices and a healthy lifestyle by teaching young female athletes about nutrition, strength training, agility, mental toughness, positive attitudes, and a growth mindset.

How? The curriculum for this camp was

developed by top notch professionals in Southern Maine. Campers will be split-up into smaller groups based on age.

Cost: $75.00 for all 4 sessions, $25.00 per individual session.

6:00pm- snack and sit-down session (nutrition, self-esteem, athlete well being, goal setting, etc.) 6:30pm- game/dance/non-traditional game 7:30pm- Camper pick-up Additional Information: Campers should bring a small, healthy snack with them and a cold water bottle. Campers should be dressed in gym shorts and a tshirt and should bring both sneakers and soccer cleats (if available).
