Next Step Read Luke 5:15-16 • What will it take for you to be able to “get away to a quiet place”? • Where are the down-times during the day? Lunch? Kid’s nap? • Try and spend 10 minutes with God three times this week. Read Mark 3:14 • There is an order to things in this passage. Being with Jesus comes before going out. Being with Him helps form our character, which is something that anyone can offer to others. What is one way in which God might want to grow your character? Find a passage of scripture that talks about that and meditate on it this week. • Take time this week to watch your favorite “underdog” movie. Reflect on how God can use the most unremarkable of people as they are changed by being with Him.

Opportunities at New Cov SOLO Moms We will be meeting with the Connections Class at 9:30AM for the next few months. Anyone who is interested should join us in Room 101. Youth News Sunday Morning Youth Groups resume January 6th: Middle School at 9:30 and High School at 11:00. Wednesday Night Youth Groups will resume on January 9th. Beyond Wellness Informational meeting is this Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at 6:30PM.This 100 day challenge consists of a daily devotional, daily food tracking, accountability, 2 weekly group workouts and a weekly ‘wellness spotlight’.We will go Beyond Wellness to a healthier happier you, the you, God created you to be! The first challenge will begin Monday, January 7 and will continue through Wednesday, April 10. We will meet twice weekly: Mondays & Wednesdays at TBA.The cost is $30. We’ve given dozens and dozens of cookies,sung dozens of Christmas carols,and given dozens of gifts that these clients would not have received without your generosity! Year End Announcements Governing Board Nominations Due by January 6 Now that we have revamped our Bylaws and Guiding Principles, we are ready to begin the process of adding two new members to the Governing Board. Throughout the month of December, we will be accepting nominations for the two open spots.You should have received a letter with information from our New Covenant Bylaws and Guiding Principles concerning the requirements of the Governing Board. Nomination forms will be available in the church office and also at the Information Center in the Gathering Space. Nominations should be handed in or mailed to the church office. We ask for your prayers, input and support during this process. Presently serving on the Governing Board is: Mark Ells, Kevin Horn and Brett Yohn. As you may recall, Tim appointed Greg Thomsen to the Governing Board as representation from the Corporate Team. Greg will also be affirmed during the election process.
Important Reminder Regarding End of Year Giving The office will be closed Monday, December 24 through Tuesday, January 1. If you will be gone for the holidays and need to mail in your end of the year giving, it must be post-marked by December 31, 2012 to legally qualify for your 2012 giving statement.
