As the first half wore on Valleys came more in to the game, points from Eoin O'Reilly, Pa Hurley and Eoin Delaney lead after 20 minutes. A goal from Eoghan Delaney right on half time gave Valleys a half time lead of 1-05 to 0-05. Courceys Made the better start to the second half and were ahead by a point within the opening five minutes. The lead changed hands several times in the second half and in the last minute with Valleys ahead by a point, a Fearghal Lyons point was waved wide by the ref despite both umpires and the Courcey Rovers goal keeper all putting their hands up to signal a point. It was a busy weekend for our camogie teams with our U8's & U10's involved in indoor blitz in Riverstick on Saturday. With all team's have great fun while playing their first game of the year. Page 2 of 5

Our 12's travelled to Mallow to partake in a Munster blitz, with Valley Rovers been the only team to have two teams in it meaning that other teams had only there best team on display.

LADIES FOOTBALL U16’s

Our girls represented their club & county with pride with one of our teams finishing the day unbeaten having played teams from Limerick, Waterford and Cork. While our other team winning two of their three games, losing narrowly to a Limerick side before beating a Tipperary and Cork team. Well done to all involved and keep up the hard work. Going forward the U12's who played yesterday are now entered into an open draw to represent their club, county and province by playing in Croke Park in the coming months. The following Pictures are our U8’s and U10’s who took part in indoor blitz’s in Riverstick on Saturday.

Sunday morning last, played in Innishannon with bright sunny conditions Valley Rovers defeated Bishopstown in a challenge game on a scoreline of VALLEY ROVERS 3.8 to BISHOPSTOWN 4.4. This was this teams second outing for the year and again they showed a great collective will to win. Although we were short a few girls through injury and illness, the remaining 15 girls put in a massive effort for the hour and have shown that this team has plenty of talent. Best wishes to Claire O'Dwyer and Shauna Reilly for the weeks ahead as they are recovering from serious ankle and hand injuries respectively. The 15 girls who lined out were: Jane Mulvihill, Aine Lynch, Rachel Lordan, Emma ODonavan, Katie Murphy, Carol Cremin, Ellen Fehily, Ellen Fennelly, Sarah Lynch, Chloe Burton, Roisin OSullivan, Nicole Callanan, Cliona Rearden, Kim Muckian & Emma Kelly

UNDER 16’s Valleys U16 Premier 2 Football Valleys U16 Premier 2 footballers travelled to Sallybrook to play Glanmire last Wednesday night. Valleys started brightly and with points from Adam Walsh Murphy and Darragh O’Shea. Glamnire came into the game and with two goals before half time they led at half time 2-3 to 0-3. Valleys kept up the pressure in the second half with a goal from Aaron O’Leary from the penalty spot but Glanmire ran out comfortable winners 4-8 to 1-6. Valleys started brightly with two goals from Cian Crowley. Valleys conceded two points but continued to play the better hurling and two further goals from Conor Taheny and Adam Walsh Murphy and points from Cathal O’Sullivan and Darragh O’Shea valleys led at half time 4-6 to 0-6. Valleys continued to work hard all over the pitch in the second half. Scores from Cathal O’Sullivan and Darragh O’Shea Valleys ran out winners 4-14 to 0-11. This was a great start to life in Premier 1 and was another great team performance. UNDER 13’s Sarsfields 4-7 Valley Rovers 0-6. Our U13 hurlers travelled to Riverstown for their first P2 league game on Sunday evening. Sars started well and by the 20th minute had opened up a 3-05 to 0-00 score. A few positional switches during the half eventually helped settle our lads and we performed much better for the 10 minutes coming up to the short whistle, closing down the supply of ball into Sars forward line and running at their backs which yielded our first score, to leave the half time score at 3-05 to 0-01. We asked our players to go out and do themselves justice in the second half and everyone responded magnificently scoring the first 3 points of the half and were unlucky with a few goal chances. Unfortunately Sars scored a breakaway goal, but we kept up the standard tacking on another 2 points to match Sars score in the second half. Sars are one of the top teams in our league having regraded from P1 last year so our strong showing after their initial scoring burst, especially in the second half will give confidence to all that we can perform well in this league over the course of the season. Training continues in Brinny every Tuesday evening from 6pm to 7.30pm. Panel vs. Sars. Adam Casey, Aaron White, Brian Lordan, Cian Johnson, Conor Hoban, Charlie O’Sullivan, Dylan O’Driscoll, Donnacha Galgey, Evan O’Shea, Evan Hennessy, James O’Sullivan, Joshua Murphy, Jonathan O’Leary, John Neary, Jason Kelleher, Jerry O’Connor, Jack LeStrange.
