Step 1 A - Not Required Connection Components - Not Included 1. UNION CONNECTIONS: Union Connections for easy disconnect the heater for maintenance. 2. ISOLATION VALVES (SHUTOFF VALVE): Install isolating valves (ball valve type) on the inlet water line. This Valve can be used to turn off the water supply to the unit of it needs servicing or maintenance purposes. 3. PRESSURE RELIEF VALVE (PRV): You should check the local codes to find which type of PRV is required in your area. The use of one 3/4” 150 PSI pressure only relief valve installed on each hot water generator on the hot water outlet ball valve with a drainage discharge tube installed in accordance of national and local codes. 4. Y-STRAINER: Y-Strainer help prevent debris enter the heater that might clog the flow sensor and other components inside the water of the heater unit.

Step 1 B - Required Connection Components - Not Included 5. GATE-VALVE: Gate-Valve help control the flow rate out of the heater to provide maintainable temperature vs gpm setting for the unit. You must install Gate-Valve to calibrate the hot water.

Step 2 - How to Calibrate flow rate and temperature after installation. 1. Leave the Case Open. Make sure all electrical wires and water pipes are properly installed. Check the power requirement for each model. Before start up, check that all connections are secure and fittings are tight. Confirm that all air has been purged from the system. Check all the leaks. 2. Make sure Breaker on the unit is OFF. If you have 1 bath room house, go ahead and turn on your shower-head valve with maximum flow just hot side only. If you have 2 bathroom house, see step 7. 3. Turn the Breaker on the unit. Then use the GATE VALVE (see picture above) dial counter clockwise until the flow indicator inside the unit (flow indicator screen should be inside the unit, on the side where the pc board locates at) dial till it says 1.5 GPM.

4. Adjust your set point temperature by pressing up or down button on the controller to 105F to 107F. Ideally, this is the temperature range we would recommend for a hot shower during the calibration unless your application requires higher temperature. 5. Go ahead and check your shower head to see whether the flow and the temperature meet your needs. Then shut off your shower head. Calibration is complete 6. Ideally, you will gain a higher flow rate by lowering the set temperature as water moves through the heater quartz elements faster. If hotter water is required, simply raise the set temperature and slow the water flow rate using GATE VALVE to meet your temperature needs. 7. If you have 2 bathroom house, go ahead and turn on both of your shower-head valve with maximum flow just the hot side only. Same thing for 3 bathroom house. Then repeat step 3 to 5 above. But instead adjust to 1.5 GPM on the flow indicator at step 3, adjust to 2.5 GPM for 2 bathroom house and 4.0 GPM for 3 bathroom house. 8. Calibrate using the GATE VALVE at the hot outlet, and adjusting the GATE VALVE until you have a comfortable water temperature and flow rate. Never use the cold inlet valve to adjust the flow rate. This will restrict water from flowing in and cause damage to the heating elements.
