1. LRS Organisation Portal 1. Password Reset Requests Since 1st April 2016, we have been attempting to remove a ‘Password Reset’ service and get users to use the ‘Forgotten Password’ option or contact their nominated super-user(s). Super-users need to ensure all LRS user accounts have a valid email address logged (must not be a generic mailbox, which multiple user’s access) and a secret question set-up on the LRS Organisation Portal. This will allow users to follow the ‘Forgotten Password’ option. Super users are responsible for managing user accounts which includes resetting passwords and re-activating suspended user accounts. If you’re a Super User please inform all LRS users in your organisation, in-case they are not aware. For more information about how to manage LRS user accounts please visit GOV.UK: https://www.gov.uk/government/collections/learning-records-service 2. Password Reminder With the Festive break approaching the last thing most of us are thinking about is returning to work and remembering one of the many passwords required. Typically, the Service Desk has an increase in requests for password resets or activating suspended accounts. Note: LRS organisation portal passwords expire every 45 days. This year to avoid any problems and waiting for the Service Desk to reset your password we recommend that you create a reminder or ‘aide-memoire’ that will act as a prompt. However, please don’t write down your password. 3. New URL address From the 22nd November 2017, the LRS has changed its URL address to access the LRS Organisation Portal. More information can be found on Gov.UK (LRS Organisation Portal – New URL) and which users are affected: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/lrs-organisation-portal Back to top

2. LRS Service Desk 1. Festive opening hours The LRS service desk will be closed, Monday 25th, 26th December and 1st January (Christmas, Boxing and New Year’s Day). 4. Release 15 – Improving the ULN User Journey Release 15 is about enhancing the end to end ULN user journey when it comes to registering learners with LRS and acquiring Unique Learner Numbers. Release 15, is looking to: 

Improve the accuracy of search results returned when searching for learners.

Improve the way in which the results are displayed on the LRS Organisation Portal to help you identify the correct ULN for your learner.

Reduce the number of data quality issues with learner records.

Reduce the manual input required to obtain ULNs for your learners.

We are looking for volunteers who use this service (LRS Organisation Portal) to get involved and provide feedback as new features are developed. Please email your contact details, along with the name of your organisation to [email protected], with the title: LRS Release 15 – Improving the ULN User Journey.
