New Grant • Received a $142,000 HEC grant for training of online instructors in both SSO and PSM • Greg Miller of ISU will lead training effort • First workshop to be held following Midwest ASAS meeting in Des Moines

Climate Variability - $10 million over 5 years Our proposal includes 35 scientists and 15 sub awards 28 proposals submitted Narrowed to four including dairy, beef, swine & poultry Reverse site visit at USDA to present proposal Notification within next week or so

Strategic Assessment of USPCE • 36 interviews of stakeholders to assess programs and performance and to suggest directions for the future • Hale Group conducted study • Most notable: USPCE does not serve or benefit pork producers directly but rather serves land grant university swine programs • Need a new vision statement and objectives • Strongly supported Deans meeting, NSNG, SSO, etc. • USPCE Board will use to develop long term strategic plan
