Volume 38, No. 1 Spring, 2014 G.S.Eh! Abstract Submission Is Now Open for the Annual Meeting in Vancouver This year’s annual meeting of the Geological Society of America will be held Ocober 19-22 in Vancouver, British Columbia. As always, the History and Philosophy of Geology Division will be co-sponsoring some theme sessions this year. Please consider submitting an abstract to the following sessions: T149. Interesting “bad ideas” that have been corrected and ideas from other sciences and/or prior to 1500 will also be considered. T150. Foundations of Geology: Outcrops and Locations that Shaped Geologic Thought We encourage discussions of iconic localities, their place in the history of geology, the people who interpreted their importance, their use in teaching new generations of geologists, and what can still be learned from them. Rock Stars of the History and Philosophy of Geology Division The History and Philosophy of Geology Division is happy to report that we have new additions to our Rock Stars column! Bob Dott authored the first Rock Stars column in more than 2.5 years on Lawrence Sloss and Sequence Stratigraphy, published in the March 2014 issue of GSA Today. You can access the article at http://www.geosociety.org/gsatoday/archive/24/3/pdf/i1052-5173-24-3-24.pdf .
