HEAD COACH SHARON CLARK Sharon Clark is entering her 17th season as the head coach of the Butler women’s volleyball program. Clark reached her highest win total with the program in 2013 when she guided the team to a 24-8 overall record. At 9-4 overall, the 2016 team is off to the best start to a season since the 2013 team who went 11-2 at the start of the year. Seven-straight wins also places this team in a tie for the third-highest win streak under the guidance of Clark. During her coaching tenure, Clark has delivered ten winning seasons, reaching the 20-win plateau five times.
LOGAN LEADS THE NATION IN MULTIPLE CATEGORIES Anna Logan is one of the top offensive talents in the country after the first three weeks of the season and she has the numbers to prove it. Heading into the weekend, Logan leads the NCAA in both total kills (234) and points (264). The focal point of the BU offensive attack is hitting .277 on the year to average 4.59 kills per set. The single-season kills per set school record at Butler is held by Kali Carter, a 2004 graduate that averaged 4.57 kills per set her senior year.
TAKEDA WITH THE ACE Butler’s posted a season-high 11 aces in the 3-0 sweep at Ball State. Taylor Takeda finished the match with seven aces, just two shy of tying the school record. The last Bulldog to post seven service aces in a single-match was Lynn Hardin (5-sets) during the 1993 season. The school record of nine belongs to Laura Baire who dominated the match against Wright State during the 1995 campaign.

Butler Invitational I Indianapolis, Indiana I Hinkle Fieldhouse I September 16-17
BULLDOGS WINNING STREAK CONTINUES The 3-1 win over Indiana State on Tuesday night moves Butler’s winning streak to seven-straight matches. Five of the seven have been clean 3-0 sweeps, a stretch of games that started at the Hawkeye Classic on Sept. 3. Butler was the only team to defeat Iowa during their home tournament. That match would signal the start of four-straight 3-0 victories. The ‘Dawgs would give up one set against Murray State, but won nonetheless to keep the streak alive. The Bulldogs will shoot for their eighth-straight win on Friday morning against Northern Kentucky. No team has won eight consecutive games since the 2010 season. That unit rattled off eightstraight conference wins as a part of the Horizon League.
BULLDOGS PLACE THREE ON ALL-TOURNAMENT TEAM Butler had three players make the 2016 Butler Classic All-Tournament Team. MVP honors went to setter Makayla Ferguson who averaged 10.67 assists per set over the weekend. She posted a double-double in the win over Murray State with 44 assists and 13 digs. Anna Logan and Brooke Gregory joined Ferguson on the All-Tournament Team. Gregory set a new season-high total with 17 kills in the win over Murray State. Her .400 attack percentage doubled as a season-high. Logan led the team with 41 kills, averaging 4.10 kills per set. She took 100 swings and only committed 10 errors to post a .310 attack percentage. The Bulldogs went 3-0 during the BU Classic for the second time in a four-year span. The 2013 team defeated Green Bay, UT Martin and Toledo all by the final score of 3-0.
