Venado Grande Ranch is an outstanding northwest Texas hunting ranch known for excellent trophy whitetail deer (ranging from 150s to 190s), turkey, doves, quail, ducks and wild hogs. The ranch can be sold as one tract of 12,158 acres or 8,012 acres. Two-thirds of the ranch has not been hunted in more than 20 years. The majority of the land is rolling with scattered cedar and mesquite tree cover. There are eight pastures and 150 acres previously planted in wheat. Most of the ranch is a strong red sandy loam soil ... the best. The primary source of water for the ranch is from the King Cottle Water Coop. Five 10,000 gallon tanks store water which is distributed by pipelines to 26 cattle and wildlife troughs throughout the ranch. There are three solar pumping stations. There are many ponds, some of which are large and stocked with fish. Over six miles of the Wichita River meanders through the northwest quadrant ofthe ranch. The Venado Grande is conveniently located approximately 180 miles west of Dallas/Fort Worth, 102 miles north of Abilene, 119 miles east of Lubbock and 215 miles southeast of Amarillo. From Benjamin, Texas, proceed west on Highway 82 for eight and one-half miles. The property fronts the right side of Highway 82. Elevations range from 1,440 to 1,750 feet. There is a noticeable amount of rock outcrop in the hills that is good for using a crushed stone on the roads when necessary. NO CURRENT PRODUCTION ON RANCH. One-half of the minerals owned by the seller will be conveyed. Be sure to check out the virtual tour at www.venadogranderanch.info
