Yard waste clogs storm drains, pollutes our waterways, and creates a road hazard. Depositing, placing or blowing any refuse, tree limbs, leaves or grass clippings in any gutter along any public street, road, alley or highway can result in the issuance of a $100 citation plus court fees, assessments and costs.
Instead of garbage bags or reusable containers, use biodegradable paper yard waste bags available at most hardware and home improvement stores.
Mixing limbs with leaves or grass clippings can damage the Village’s leaf vacuum and delay pickup.

MONDAY: Brush, branches, and limbs. Limbs for chipping are limited 12’ long. Lay brush parallel to the street. Pile brush neatly – do not put brush inside of any containers or plastic bags. All brush must be placed on the tree bank, not in the street. Contractors are responsible for removing their trimmings. If removing your own tree and there will be a large amount of debris, please contact the Village Hall at 643-2421. Clean wood (no nails, metals, tar paper or tar shingles attached), pallets, garden and yard waste, weeds, twigs. Please place this at curbside on the tree bank, not in containers. WEDNESDAY: Loose leaves and grass clippings will be picked up once a week from March 30th – October 1st with the Leaf Vacuum. Loose leaves and grass clippings should be placed in the tree bank, not in the gutter or street. Please no sticks or the Leaf Vacuum will not be able to pick up. The Leaf Vacuum will make one complete pass through the Village. This may roll into Thursday depending on the amount of loose leaves and grass clippings. Grass clippings, leaves and yard waste (no sticks) that are placed in biodegradable bags will be picked up (not exceeding 50 lbs.). No plastic bags or containers!! No grass clippings are allowed in the street or gutter. Please do not mow your grass into the street; this will end up in the storm sewer. FRIDAY: Concrete will be picked up. If this is a large amount, please notify the Village Hall at 643-2421. SPRING & FALL CLEAN UP: Loose leaves and grass clippings will be picked up using the Leaf Vacuum in the Spring from approximately April 1 thru May 31 and in the Fall from approximately October 1 thru November 15 (dependent upon the weather). Loose leaves and grass clippings should be placed in the tree bank, not in the gutter or street. Please no sticks or the Leaf Vacuum will not be able to pick up. All items must be placed behind the curb on the tree bank prior to 7am the scheduled day of pick up as listed above. Please allow a 5 foot clearance around your items. We may not be able to pick up items if there is a vehicle or mailbox in the way. Holidays may alter the schedule. Snow and rain may affect the refuse pick-up schedule.
