CODE OF ETHICS FOR COACHES
It is the duty of all involved with Nativity School Athletics to embody the proper ideals of sportsmanship, ethical conduct and fair play. Coaches are expected to respect the integrity and judgment of the officials, to show courtesy to visiting teams, and to recognize that an athletic contest is only a game, the purpose of which is to promote the physical, mental, moral, social and emotional well-being of the individual athletes.
COACH’S CODE OF CONDUCT 1.
I acknowledge that it is my duty as a coach to embody the proper ideals of sportsmanship, ethical conduct and fair play.
2.
I will comply with all PPSL and Nativity School Athletic Program policies including attendance, scrimmage / practice scheduling and playing / starting time guidelines.
3.
I will honor my commitment to the Nativity School Athletic Program by preparing for and attending all scheduled practices and games in a timely manner.
4.
I will, or a designated adult team administrator will, personally notify the team parents, in advance, of necessary practice / game time changes.
5.
I will exercise good sportsmanship, ethical conduct and fair play at all times.
6.
I will demonstrate my respect for colleagues, opponents and officials through my actions and words; refraining from criticism and the use of profanity even in difficult situations. I understand that the Nativity School Athletic Program adheres to a “Zero Tolerance Policy” for chastising officials and I agree to abide by this.
7.
I will respect the integrity of the game by teaching and following the game rules.
8.
I understand that I am representing Nativity Parish and agree to adhere to the Christian Code of Conduct.
9.
I understand that the Nativity School Athletic Program has policies prohibiting the recruitment of CCD athletes and the scheduling of intra-grade competition.
10. I will listen to and support the sport specific Commissioner as well the Athletic Director,
who are the instructional authority of Nativity Athletics.
11. I understand that if I fail to return ALL sports equipment, I will pay for its replacement. 12. I understand that if I fail to attend mandatory coach meeting, I will not be Permitted to coach.
