• Memphis comes into the game riding a seven game win streak, tied for the fourth-longest such streak in program history • The Tigers are a perfect 7-0 in home games, and the game against Ole Miss is the fourth game in an eight-game stretch of home contests. • This is the first of two games between the two teams, as Memphis returns the trip on April 19.

Memphis junior outfielder Lindsay Crowdus, during her two-plus seasons with the Tigers, has a career batting average of .325, which is the highest in school history, while teammate Kyler Trosclair stands third all-time in batting average.

HOME COOKING • Memphis will play its eighth home games of the season on Tuesday evening. • The Tigers are a perfect 7-0 in home games thus far this season. • The seven wins sets a new program mark for consecutive home wins to open a season, breaking the previous record of five.

SCOUTING THE REBELS • Comes into the weekend riding a two-game losing skid, falling in 2-of-3 games against SEC foe Kentucky over the weekend. • Two players hit over .400 for the Rebels, including Hailey Lunderman (.446) and Dakota Matiko (.424). • Matiko is on a 14-game hitting streak • Three others - Elantra Cox (.386), Miranda Strother (.377), and Kylan Becker (.340) hit over .300 for the season. • Strother leads the team with 19 RBI’s, and a slugging percentage of .545. • Madi Osias leads the pitching staff with a 13-2 overall record and 75 strikeouts in 85.1 innings of work. • Alyssa Clayton and Elisha Jahnke have 4-1 and 5-3 records, respectively, and team-leading ERA’s of 1.60 and 1.82, each.

SMITH EARNS WEEKLY HONOR ROLL NOD Memphis sophomore pitcher Molly Smith was named to the American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll for her performances during the week ending March 20. Smith pitched 7 and one-third of an inning, striking out eight while giving up just four hits and two walks. The highlight of the week came in the series finale against Northern Kentucky, where she struck out eight batters in her second complete game shutout of the season, helping the Tigers to the 7-0 victory on Sunday afternoon. This season the Yamhill, Oregon, native leads the team with a 3.00 ERA to go with a 4-6 overall record with a team-high 52 strikeouts in 70 innings of work.

HADLEY NAMED TO WEEKLY HONOR ROLL Memphis freshman catcher/third baseman Regan Hadley, following a week where she went 6-of-13 at the plate and hit her first two collegiate home runs, was named to the American Athletic Conference Honor Roll. She is the third Tiger player to be named to the AAC Honor Roll, along with Memphis newcomers Lindsey Stickrod and Brittany Seale. She helped the Tigers to a 4-1 record, and drove in seven runners over four games and had a 1.000 slugging percentage, and added a walk.

YOUNG GUNS Memphis, which does not have a senior on its 2016 roster, is led by a quartet of players - two sophomores and two juniors - who each hit over .315 this season. Juniors Brittany Seale (.359) and Lindsey Stickrod (.310) along with sophomores Brooke Lee (.361) and Kyler Trosclair (.320) rank in the top four in the team in batting average. Lee stands fifth in the league in batting average, and Seale sixth..

After her performance at the LSU tournament against Liberty, sophomore pitcher Katie Brignac earned another look in the circle on Tuesday night against Youngstown State from the Memphis coaching staff. The River Ridge, La., native made the most of her opportunity, scattering seven hits over seven innings, striking out four, including a pinch hitter with two runners on in the top of the seventh inning with one out.

WISHER FANS NINE IN HOME-OPENING WIN

Freshman hurler Bayleigh Wisher picked up both wins in Memphis’ home opening dates last week. Against Jackson State in the home opener, the freshman struck out nine batters and threw 99 pitches in a 5-2 win. The next day, she pitched the complete game against Wright State, throwing 174 pitches in a 5-4 thriller that ended with a diving play at the first base bag by Lindsey Stickrod with a 8 / 2 pair of Wright State runners barreling for home.

SEALE ALSO EARNS FIRST LEAGUE RECOGNITION Junior college transfer catcher Brittany Seale also earned a spot on the American’s weekly honor roll. Seale hit .545 in a 3-1 week for Memphis at the Mississippi Gulf Coast Classic. Seale had four RBI, a walk, a HBP and one sacrifice in 11 at-bats. She led Memphis with six hits and tied for the team’s weekend lead with four runs scored.

POOLE’S 400TH WIN Memphis’ home opening win was also head coach Natalie Poole’s 400th career win. She is 98-121 at Memphis heading in to the Chanticleer Classic.

Memphis was picked to finish sixth in the American Athletic Conference preseason poll, as voted on by the league’s coaches. Memphis finished seventh in the league in 2015 with an 6-12 record.

TRIPLING UP THE FIELD Not only does Lindsay Crowdus lead the Tigers in career batting average, she also has five more triples than any other player in Memphis career history.

FIRST HONOR FROM LEAGUE FOR STICKROD Junior college transfer Lindsey Stickrod earned her first career honor from the American Athletic Conference after she was named to the weekly honor roll following the opening weekend of the season. She hit .333 for the week and had a .933 slugging percentage and a .412 onbase percentage in five games. Against Illinois-Chicago, Stickrod knocked the eighth grand slam in program history over the right field fence. She added a second homerun in the Tigers’ 5-3 loss to Michigan State, Sunday. Stickrod’s grand slam was the first for Memphis since Calli Irvin took one yard against Wisconsin on Mar. 14th last year. That was Irvin’s first career grand slam. Stickrod was also named the Tennessee Sports Writers Association Player of the Week for her first give game stats.
