Wyoming Cowboy Football Postgame Quotes Following 49-13 loss to Oregon on Sept. 16, 2017, on Jonah Field in War Memorial Stadium in Laramie, Wyo. Head Coach Craig Bohl Quotes From Head Coach Craig Bohl “I thought Oregon played well. Their quarterback played extremely well. Early in the game, we did a good job against (Royce) Freeman who is an NFL back, but as the game went along our guys began to get a little tired.” “The thing I’m most disappointed in is I thought we lacked some discipline, which is noted by the unsportsmanlike penalties that we had. In the bigger picture, we weren’t executing like we needed to. Also, we came up against a football team that got hot as the game went along. The quarterback (Justin Herbert) certainly is one of the better quarterbacks that I’ve seen.” “When you play a team that goes fast, one of the best things you can do is stay on the field offensively. We talked about how important it was going to be to control the football to give ourselves a chance to win. That never really came about whether we had problems establishing the line of scrimmage or creating running lanes.” “Oregon did a good job closing down on our receivers. We never really came up with any catches when the ball was contested or the ball wasn’t exactly where it needed to be.” “As the game went along the pressure continued to build, and it wasn’t a good scenario. What I told the team afterwards is that we all own the loss, bounce back and not let one team beat us twice. We need to look at what we are doing, make adjustments in practice and have a positive attitude going in to Hawai’i next week.” Coach Bohl On Josh Allen “He took some heavy shots tonight. There are things we all need to learn how to get better at, lick our wounds and get healed up.” Quotes from Safety Andrew Wingard “Oregon has a great offense. Obviously, a team isn’t going to run everything that we prepared for in practice and there were some things we hadn’t seen before on tape. Other than that, we had to execute. Not being able to get off the field on third down and not being able to stop the run game were huge. It was tough. They have good running backs. We will have to go look at the film and be able to bounce back. I would definitely trade in those tackles for a win.” Wingard Talking About Royce Freeman “He is a big guy, probably the biggest one I’ve ever faced since I’ve been at Wyoming. He’s a good player and been one of the main guys in the nation since his freshman year. He’s tough to bring down, but it’s fun to play against a guy like that.” Andrew Wingard on the Oregon Passing Game “The most impressive part was the quarterback. He knew every spot we weren’t rolling to so on the third downs he knew where we were soft and they converted. It was impressive by them, but disappointing on our part. It was a really good test to play against an offense like that.”

Oregon Ducks Postgame Quotes Following 49-13 win over Wyoming on Sept. 16, 2017, on Jonah Field in War Memorial Stadium in Laramie, Wyo. Head Coach Willie Taggart On the defensive performance: “Big time, I think we held them to less than 200 hundred yards, and defensively whenever you can do that, that’s big time. Our guys do a great job getting after the quarterback. That’s something we knew we had to do. It was great to get (Josh) Allen down a couple times.” On gaining confidence in forcing turnovers: “It’s something our coaches stress in practice all the time. Whenever they get one in practice, the team calls them out. The guys take pride in them and I hear them on the sideline. They’re going after the ball and that’s great to see. I think the pass rush helped with that.” On what was learned about the team this week: “We’ve got a good football team and we’re still not as good as we could be. Like I told them after the game, it’s great when you can win, but there’s much more we could improve on. We need to get better and get ready for Pac-12 play.” On first half offense: “We just execute. Guys are doing their job and are locked in. We pound out first downs, but we don’t do it as well in the second half. It’s always one guy who makes a mistake and hurts the entire drive. We have to get to where we’re just as locked in as we are in the first half. That’s what happened in the second half, bad technique. One time we missed a block on first down and then we were backed up. On the interception, the receiver didn’t continue his run and he’s stopping. That got tipped and intercepted, so it’s being consistent and trusting your technique.” On third-down efficiency: “Well last week in the second half we weren’t good on third down, in the first half we were. This game I guess we did that well, and again it’s just executing. We called the plays and our guys knew exactly what we were doing. We got some good blocks down field and whenever you can get a hand on somebody, Royce [Freeman] can do the rest.”
