Wake Up & Deirdealize is the story of one woman’s desperate quest for success; in a world where dreams are sold as reality, the notion of ‘fake it to make it’ is pushed to the extreme until even Deirdre can’t keep up the pretence anymore. The show is a playful examination of the constructs of fame, self-help and image and a ludicrous expose of the isolation and loneliness that threaten to engulf us all on our endless quest towards self -improvement. As an artist, my approach to theatre is open, honest and playful. I enjoy nothing more than starting a journey with an audience without knowing exactly how or where it will end. I am interested in breaking down the barrier between performer and audience, taking people out of the role of submissive participant and casting them instead in the role of active player.
