Sunday Night Youth Group (SNYG) Sunday Night Youth Group is the best place for you to come and get plugged in. We’ll have games, a lesson, and small group Lme for every age and gender. You’ll want to come check it out and bring your friends too! The 6th-8th grade meets from 5:30-7pm and the 9th-12th grade will go from 7:15-9pm. High School Girls Hangout Every second Sunday starLng on September 10th there will be a high school girls hang out at Teresa Hilliard’s (531 Pine Ridge CT., Lansing). It will go from 4:30 - 7:00 and there will be dinner, a devo, and a chance to hang out. Harvesters High schoolers, this year will be serving at Harvesters Food DistribuLon Center one Wednesday a month starLng September 20th. We sort cans, pack produce, box up food for needy children...whatever they need us to do. We will meet at Wallula and go from 5:15-8:30pm. Get-a-Way Weekend Get a Way is an overnight event for the 6th-8th graders held at Ozark ChrisLan College in Joplin, MO on September 29th-30th. They will have great speakers, worship, and classes as well as a fun late night event. The cost is $40. RegistraLon forms can be found on the youth bulleLn board by the gym. Payment and registraLon are due Sunday, September 10th, a`er that the cost goes up to $50. See You at the Pole See You at the Pole is a prayer rally where students meet at their school’s flagpole before classes start to li` up their friends, families, teachers, school, and naLon to God. It is completely led by students, for students. Thousands of middle schools and high schools across the US will parLcipate. The date is Wednesday, September 27th at 7am by your school’s flagpole. Costume Movie Night Friday, October 27th we will be joining with other youth groups in the Leavenworth county area and having a movie night here at Wallula from 6-9pm. Along with the movie night we will also be having pizza AND a costume contest so come dressed up! This event is for 6-12 grade and is FREE! Trunk or Treat Wallula will be pueng on a Trunk or Treat event Tuesday, October 31st from 6-8pm. We will need plenty of volunteers to help with manning moonbounces, direcLng traffic, donaLng candy, and being a trunk host for the event. If interested please sign up at the Next Step StaLon. This is a great service opportunity and a great chance to invite your family and neighbors to this safe family fun night. Oasis Conference Held at Manhagan ChrisLan College and K-State, this high school event will have great speakers, worship, classes, and plenty of free Lme to hang out and have fun! The dates are Friday, November 17th – Saturday, November 18th. More info to come. White Elephant GiR Exchange What is it? Everyone brings a wrapped gi` that cost about $5 and then that’s where the fun begins. What follows is some stealing, luck, guessing, and a lot of fun! The person that brings the best gi` (as voted on by the group) will receive a special prize! Backpack Buddies Backpack Buddies is the weekend feeding program of Second Harvest Community Food Bank. Children are provided with a healthy breakfast, a healthy lunch and a healthy snack each weekend during the school year, including extended breaks. This semester the Student Ministry will help pack over 300 backpacks for this program on a Sunday a`ernoon. More informaLon to come. Angel Tree Delivery Every year towards the end of December the Student Ministry takes all of the Angel Tree presents donated and delivers them to the families. There are only a handful of openings for this service opportunity so make sure you are one of the first to sign up if interested! This event is open to all 6th-12th graders. More informaLon to come.
