Lost, But Not Found !

Did you ever wonder where that matching sock went after you swear you put both into the laundry? Well apparently it finds its way to the Lyme School’s lost and found. Missing a hat, coat, glove, shoe or pants (I’m not sure how one loses track of their pants, but apparently it is possible)... check the lost and found. If you think your children are far too conscientious to have left anything unattended, but have not actually seen their fleece coat recently... check the lost and found (Although, it may actually be in Nepal). If you are lonely or depressed with the state of your remaining wardrobe... check the lost and found. If you empathize with the plight of being misplaced... check the lost and found. In fact, if you are reading this, you fit the profile of someone who needs to... check the lost and found.

Science: Observation & Classification Three important skills of science are the ability to observe, identify patterns, and classify. This past week students in the 1st and 2nd grade practiced those skills. The first grade examined Dinosaurs (Apparently, a universal interest of 1st graders all across the US) and classified them in two groups Herbivores and Carnivores (I just classify them as “really big and toothy” and “something I don’t want to bump into in a dark alley”). The second grade classified things in the natural world as non living or living and then further into a variety of groups according to their physical traits (See classification map in photo)
