Concession Stand Guidelines Due to numerous questions last year concerning our Concession Stand, we thought that the following guidelines should help alleviate some of the confusion and emphasize the importance of Concession Stand duty. Please remember that no one in the WCGSL organization is paid for his/her time. The league is run entirely by volunteers who work together to make sure the season is a great experience for all players. It would be impossible to keep the concession stand open for the players and fans, and to keep the fields in good condition without lots of help from the parents. The success of the Concession Stand is critical to the league. Therefore it is important that we get the full cooperation of all of the parents/coaches of the girls that participate in the Washington County Girls Softball League. One parent/guardian of each girl playing in the WCGSL is required to work at least (1) one shift (approximately 2 ½ hours) at the Concession Stand during the season. Please note that it is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to be at the concession stand and ready to work by 5:30 pm for night games or 1/2 hr. before game time on Saturdays that you are scheduled. You will be required to work till all games are over during night games and Saturday games will be ½ hr. before the start of the next game, if no games are scheduled after your game you are required to work till your game is over. Please be prompt and arrive at the Concession Stand by 5:30PM or ½ hr. before game time. If you can’t make your scheduled shift start, please make arrangements to cover your shift till you arrive or reschedule for another date. If that parent/worker is not present in the concession stand by 5:30pm, the coach will be required to supply a replacement for that night (not relieving the first parent but merely rescheduling them for another game), if no parent/substitute is willing to fill in and no assistant coach is available to fill in, that team will FORFEIT the game to the other team, as the game will be cancelled and may result in a ONE GAME SUSPENSION for your child. We have so
many parents that volunteer their time, it is simply not fair for those who do volunteer. If you cannot commit to just one evening, we are offering a “buy out” fee of $30.00. If this fee is paid at the time of sign up, you will not be scheduled to work. If it is not paid at time of sign up, you will be scheduled to work. IT CANNOT BE PAID AT A LATER DATE. (Note: There will be no buy-outs used during tournament games) If during the season, your shift is canceled, for any reason...it will be your responsibility to get yourself rescheduled for a different date / shift. No one will call to get you rescheduled. It’s not the league responsibility to come looking for a team that doesn’t have their worker in the concession stand. The game will be declared a forfeit at game time if no worker is available. There will be six people working a shift four of those must be over 18, Please do not send anyone under the age of 18 to perform your Concession Stand duty unless APPROVED ONE WEEK [1] prior to your scheduled time slot by the league and NO ONE UNDER THE AGE OF 14. Anyone under the age of 18 may only do the window and drinks. There we be a signup sheet hanging on Pepsi cooler, please sign in for your spot. It is a first-come first–choice basis. It’s not the league’s responsibility to sign you up and we will NOT sign anyone up except for the following. {NOTE: Anyone under the age of 18 approved by the league will have priority for window and drinks and will be signed-up by the league for date scheduled}
