Weddings at Crystal River Inn With its fountains, columns, roses, gardens, fireplaces, antiques, designer decor, and flawless catering, our collection of historic buildings plays host to dozens of wonderful weddings every year. The Crystal River Inn offers big-city sophistication (or downhome simplicity if you prefer) at small-town prices. We limit our wedding business to 8 weddings per month (and only one per day), in sizes ranging all the way from tiny to 400 people. Our inn is in the Historic District of San Marcos, one of Central Texas' most beautiful towns. The inn's courtyard, gardens, dining and living areas hold up to 200 people; but we cater even larger events all over Central Texas. We've been voted "best place to have a wedding" and "best caterer" in Hays Country multiple times. Ours is an indoor-outdoor venue with rose gardens and fountains for the ceremony, and a huge brick-floored courtyard area for the reception. The adjacent dining room has a fireplace, piano, wetbar, and atrium. We use lots of candlelight and tiny white lights to create a magical feeling in our garden; the inn is beautiful without being stuffy or formal. We are known for comfortable, elegant simplicity. We have a minimum charge of $1500 for any wedding larger than 20 people, but beyond that, we've had couples spend $2000, and had them spend $10,000.....it depends on day of the week, time of the day, number of people, and how elaborate you'd like the menu and the arrangements to be. We're not the cheapest place around, and not the most expensive either. But we're much cheaper (as in, by one-third to one-half), than a comparable event in the city. For example, a typical Saturday night ceremony/reception for 100 including venue, wedding coordinator, bridal table, all rentals such as linens and china, personnel, food, non-alcoholic beverages, and some decor, ranges from $4500-6000.
One huge savings is that we don't have a liquor license, so you can bring in your own wine, beer, and champagne. Also, we have two wonderful, affordable photographers who will shoot the whole wedding, dozens of images to which they give you the rights, for $400-600 (not the $1000-1500 that most photgraphers charge!) Neither are there corkage, cake-cutting, or parking fees; security guards are not necessary in this beautiful historic neighborhood; you don't have to rent a dance floor; and rehearsal time is free.
