Welcome! My name is Miss Holcomb. This is my nineteenth year of teaching, of which the past twelve years have been in Bonham. I have previously taught in the Texas Panhandle. I am from the Texas Panhandle and moved out to this beautiful - but hot! – part of Texas a little over fifteen years ago. I reside north of Dodd City. Completing assignments and class participation is required in my class. Grading is 60% tests and 40% assignments, unless other arrangements have been made. Students will be expected to take notes in a spiral, on notebook paper, or on handouts. Students can earn Homework passes for excellent performance in the classroom. They can receive a Homework Pass for “going above and beyond the call of duty” in the classroom or making a 100 or higher on a test. The Homework Passes can be traded for assignment grades during the third, sixth, or ninth week of each nine week period to change the previous score to a 100. Students are required to bring materials to class, be courteous to other students and the teacher, and above all, enjoy learning math! I will be in Bonham from 7:30 am to about 4:15 pm daily during school days. If you need to contact me, you may visit or call the school during those hours. You may call my voicemail at 903-5835567x3177. You may also email me with any questions or comments at
[email protected] I ask that you provide contact information so that I may reach you in this packet. I WISH EVERYONE A WONDERFUL SCHOOL YEAR!! Thank You, Miss Holcomb ⏩⏩ Join the Remind App to get important reminders for our class!! ⏩⏩

Mathematics Department Dear Student and Parent/Guardian: State and District curriculum guidelines require that the students use graphing calculators in high school mathematics courses. Graphing calculator use is an integral part of mathematics courses at Bonham High School. This technology is best utilized when students have access to the same calculator outside of class that they are using in class. You may use your own calculator if you wish. However, calculators are available for issue to students in certain courses. If you wish to have a calculator issued to you while you are enrolled in a mathematics course, please sign below and have your parent(s) sign this form accepting responsibility for the calculator. You can only be issued a calculator after this signed form is returned to your mathematics teacher along with 4 AAA batteries. By signing below and receiving a calculator, you are accepting the following terms:
You agree not to loan the calculator to anyone else!
You agree to take care of the calculator so that it can be returned to your instructor/the library when requested in good working order and with no undue damage (such as scratches, missing parts, etc.)
You agree to replace the batteries as necessary with proper batteries while it is issued to you. In addition, you agree to bring 4 AAA batteries to your instructor before being issued the calculator.
In the event that the calculator is lost, broken, stolen, or otherwise unusable during the term or year, you agree to pay for a replacement within three weeks so that you will have a calculator to use.
In the event that the calculator is not returned in good working order when requested by your teacher/library, you agree to pay for it within three weeks. The replacement cost of these calculators is between $100 and $130, depending on the model. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------We, the undersigned agree to be responsible, as outlined above, for the calculator issued to the student.
