Team Placement: Placement of participants on a team will be done after registrations are completed, and will be guided by National Pop Warner and CJPW governing bodies. In the case of multiple teams, or any other issue impacting the formation of teams in each division, it is the HPWF Executive Board’s right, in consultation with respective Football & Cheerleading commissioners, to decide the method of placement on a roster. Practice Information and Commitment: The 2018 cheer season begins in August. The regular season runs through the end of October. During the month of August, practices are typically held 3 evenings a week (Monday through Thursday) weather permitted. If a cheer team qualifies for Regional competition, practices will continue through the month of November. If a cheer team qualifies for National/Global competition, practices will continue through December. Attendance: We do not recognize any other sport as taking priority over cheerleading from the first day of practice through December 15th. All cheer related obligations will be viewed as a priority over other athletic and/or social activities. Excellent attendance is an essential part of being a member of a competition cheer team. The success of the team depends on many elements. One of the most important is the team practicing together without any cheerleaders absent. For the team to be successful, we must have dedicated and committed cheerleaders and supportive parents. Commitment means attending every practice, every game and every competition or Pop Warner activity. Any cheerleader who misses 3 or more excused/unexcused practices and/or games shall be considered for dismissal from the program and shall meet with our staff to discuss disciplinary action. Choreography practices are mandatory. We understand there may have been scheduled vacations in the month of August, however effective September 1st, ALL practices are mandatory. *Cheerleading is a team sport and in order to have the best team possible, every member needs to be present at all times.
Tardiness • Tardiness is defined by 15 minutes late to practice or games. • Excessive tardiness or absences will result in dismissal from our competition program. Uniforms: The Revolution will supply each cheerleader with a uniform shell, skirt hair bow for games and socks. These items are to be returned at the end of the season. Non returned uniforms will result in a fee due of $135.00. Each cheerleader is responsible for purchasing the following items to accompany the uniform. Your child will receive 1 practice uniform at the beginning of our season which includes a pair of shorts and a tshirt.
Official Team Cheer Sneakers (will be determined in August) will be ordered in season. Payless has a cheer sneaker which is perfect for practices/games. Airforce ones are not acceptable due to the soles and neither are Keds or Converse.
Competition Bow (with team order in September)
Boy Shorts (under skirts) to be determined per team color and order (range from $12/$20)
Navy Blue leggings
Jewelry cannot be worn during practices or games. PLEASE do not pierce your daughter’s ears before the season. They will need to be removed. Please plan accordingly.
