Welcome to West Lake STEM Junior High! We’re so excited for you to enter seventh grade for the 2017-2018 school year. This sheet will provide you important instructions about how to make your class selections for seventh grade. You will need to make your class selections online at:

COURSE SCHEDULES
West Lake STEM uses a 5-period schedule. Students are enrolled in only five classes at a time that may change at the quarter or semester breaks. The regular schedule will allow students four elective quarters of their choice. Students may also choose to take science honors which will free up two more elective quarters for a total of six.

SPECIALITY COURSES (ESL, Reading, Resource, Gifted and Talented)
Specialty courses dictated by student need such as English as a Second Language (ESL), deficiency in reading fluency, resource, and Gifted and Talented (GT) will be arranged with the help of teachers and staff members at your elementary school and should not affect your number of electives.
OPEN-ENROLLMENT APPLICATIONS & 7th GRADE OPEN HOUSE
Students who do not live within West Lake STEM Junior High’s boundaries may apply to attend the school on an open-enrollment permit. Boundary information and open-enrollment applications can be found at westlakestem.org. Applications are accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis based on space available. On Tuesday, March 21st at 7:00 PM, we will hold an Incoming 7th Grader Open House to share many details about what a STEM-focused West Lake Junior High is like. The open house will be held in the school auditorium at 3400 South 3450 West, West Valley City, UT 84119.
