MISSION: TO GROW FULLY DEVOTED FOLLOWERS OF CHRIST THROUGH INTIMATE BIBLICAL COMMUNITIES DEVOTED TO LOVING AND SERVING ONE ANOTHER AND G OD.
What are Community Groups? Community Groups are gatherings of 7-25 people who meet regularly to live life together in Jesus Christ.
When do they meet? Groups meet for about two hours typically in the evening. We encourage new group members to commit to a group for at least a year.
Why join a group? Spiritual growth requires community! We weren’t meant to live a life in Christ alone. Groups are a place for people to create intentional, authentic relationships. When these relationships are consistent and committed, it propels a person’s faith forward. Community Groups are the primary connecting point for all the areas of growth and service in the church.
Is it just a meeting? Gatherings can be just the beginning of how your group gets involved in one another’s lives. Group members often get involved in serving together, finding other activities to do together and sometimes simply sitting in church together.
Who should join a group? If you are not connected anywhere then groups are for you. Groups form a foundation of relationships at Chantilly Bible Church. Community is the launch pad for both growing and serving. Groups are the best place for new members to make those important first connections at the church that lead to years of fellowship and service.
What do meetings look like? Groups meet once a week for: Time in God’s Word: All our groups are engaged in studying God’s word together and helping each other apply it in their lives. Prayer: Groups pray for God’s work and for each other both at the gathering and throughout the week as people live their lives. Groups often become a person’s core prayer support group. Food & Fellowship: Getting involved in one another’s lives takes time. Our groups carve out time with one another in true biblical fellowship. Accountability: No one is perfect. Groups create a safe place to share your struggles and a community that will check in on your walk with Christ with grace and truth. Encouragement: You’re not alone. Group members encourage each other during the meeting and throughout the week
How do I get involved? Join an existing group: Individuals and families can join groups year round by going to our website at chantillybible.org/communitygroups and filling out the form there. We use that information to find out what group might work for you. We’ll have a leader contact you within a week. New Groups: The Community Group Summit every fall is a time to shake things up with our groups. It’s an opportunity for people to change groups, for groups to change times, and to form up new groups. It’s also a great time to get plugged in as a new group forms.
