Wichita Transit Advisory Board See: Municipal Code, Sec. 2.12.1135-1138 Municipal Code Sec. 2.12.1135. - Wichita Transit Advisory Board—Created. There is hereby created an advisory board to the City known as the Wichita Transit Advisory Board. (Ord. No. 48-101, § 1, 10-21-08; Ord. No. 48-138, § 1, 12-16-08)
Sec. 2.12.1136. - Wichita Transit Advisory Board—Membership—Appointment—Terms. (a) The Wichita Transit Advisory Board shall consist of twenty-one members. Twenty members shall be residents of Sedgwick County and shall be appointed by the governing body of the City, provided that there shall be no more than eight members who are not residents of the City of Wichita. One member shall be nominated by the Wichita Access Advisory Board or its successor and appointed by the governing body of the City. The terms of office shall be as set forth in Section 2.12.020(1).
(b) The members shall receive no compensation for their services, but may be reimbursed for all necessary expenses incurred in the performance of their duties as members of such Board. (Ord. No. 48-101, § 1, 10-21-08; Ord. No. 48-138, § 2, 12-16-08)
Sec. 2.12.1137. - Wichita Transit Advisory Board—Organization. The Board shall conduct meetings, elect officers, and adopt by-laws in accordance with the policy for boards and commissions. The City Manager shall provide the necessary staff support to insure that the Board receives informational support and professional and technical assistance necessary to carry on its duties and conduct its meetings. Sec. 2.12.1138. - Wichita Transit Advisory Board—Duties. The Board shall advise the City on such matters pertaining to the operations of the municipal fixed route and paratransit public transportation systems, licensed or franchised private transportation and perform such other duties as may be requested by such City Council from time to time.
