Why did you join DG? For so many reasons! The Delta Gammas were leaders on campus, scholastic achievers, and deeply involved in service. Every Delta Gamma I met exemplified characteristics that I admired, and their obvious friendship and the deep loyalty they shared was extraordinary. A lovely woman who was a friend of my mother’s told me all about the 3 young women from Mississippi who founded Delta Gamma. Needless to say, I never wanted to be anything but a Delta Gamma! Favorite DG memory? My favorite Delta Gamma memory is actually a collage of special moments, mutual trust, and shared values-the friendships that have lasted for so many years, deepening and strengthening as time goes by, and the unfailing loyalty that we enjoy.
What is the one thing that DG taught you that was most unexpected?
Delta Gamma taught me to help the dreams of my sisters to come true. Through working together to help one another, then working together to serve others, Delta Gamma strengthened the values that my parents instilled in me as a child. Can you tell us about your family? I am incredibly blessed! My grandparents and parents were committed community leaders and volunteers, devoted to the service of others. My brother and I were incredibly fortunate to have had them as role models. My husband Bob shares these values, and we have 3 fine sons, beautiful daughters-in-law, and 2 precious grandchildren.
