Winter Baseball Performance Camps We're back at it with weekend baseball camps starting up again in January. Successful baseball athletes not only have to develop the specific skills of throwing, hitting, and fielding but they also have to develop overall athleticism by improving physical abilities such as strength, speed, power, agility, coordination, and mobility. Baseball requires highly developed eye and hand coordination combined with throwing, striking, and movement skills. The throwing and hitting components are largely dependent on rotational power. Optimal base path running and fielding rely on the movement skills of acceleration, top speed running, linear and lateral agility, balance, and coordination. Few other sports involve as many combinations of different skill sets.
