Girls Soccer This year’s team looks to improve on their record from last year. They have added depth at all levels and are one of the few teams in the Conference that is able to field 3 levels. Varsity was able to bring up several freshmen and sophomores that will make in immediate impact, while JV was able to also draw from the strong freshmen talent pool. Freshmen will be working on basic skills to ready the players for the transition to JV next year. They are looking forward to a competitive and challenging season. Badminton This year, 44 girls made the badminton team. This is the first year of high school coaching for both coaches and they are looking forward to making Plainfield East badminton a top level program. There is work to be done, but they are excited to have many hard working players committed to becoming the best players they can be. They hope to take a top spot in Conference this year and for many years to come! Baseball Coming off a Regional championship and back to back 20 win seasons. Biggest roster they ever had at 28, with depth being their strongest area. Will be internal competition for starters/playing time. Vocal leaders are Logan Schmitt and David Salazar. Boys Tennis They have a very young, fresh team this year. They have 24 on the roster right now and they are looking to work towards finishing in the top half of Conference. Girls Track Off to a fast start and what could be a very memorable season. So far they have qualified 5 girls to the prestigious Illinois Prep Top Times which functions as the unofficial indoor State meet. We have never qualified a single athlete in the school’s history. We have a lot of pieces this year that could lead to high finishes in the conference and even state. We have 5 girls ranked in the top 15 in the state to include: Katie Wiatrak (HJ), Marie-Paul Moukima (LJ), Rose Ogbuli (55/200), Alexis Floresca (200) and Paris Jones (SP). We have seen one school record fall this season with

Katie Wiatrak’s 5’3” jump in our first meet which is also an outdoor state qualifying mark. Tonight we are hosting a large meet against the 3rd and 5th place teams from last year. If the meeting ends early, come stop by! Softball The varsity team should be very competitive this year and looking forward to a great season. They are traveling to Tennessee March 23 thru the 27th.
