Women’s Championship Tournament: Pathway to USA Rugby Club 7s National Championship PREFACE 1. All teams competing in the Empire GU 7s Championship Series (EGU7sCS) and New England 7s

Championship Series (NERFU7sCS) may register to represent their GU in the Northeast Sevens Championship Tournament (NSCT). 2. The top two teams from the NSCT advance forward to represent Northeast Sevens at the USA

Rugby Club 7s National Championships. 3. All matches will be held in accordance with the laws of the game – as specified by World Rugby

– as well as any and all applicable guidelines set forth by USA Rugby, Northeast Sevens and applicable GUs. 4. Please ensure your club, team, and all players meet the USA Rugby Eligibility Regulations.

Ties & Advancement 5. Championship ties are resolved as specified in the 'Standard Set of Variations Appropriate for

the Seven-a-Side Game' in the current Law Book. Pool advancement is determined by: a. Record in pool b. Head-to-head competition c. Point differential d. Tries scored e. Converted tries scored f. Coin toss

Rosters 6. NSCT rosters are limited to twelve CIPP’ed players and must be submitted by noon the day

before the tournament to the Tournament Director and Northeast Sevens Executive Director. a. Teams may make changes to their roster via the Tournament Director at check in prior to kick off of their first game. 7. Players appearing on the NSCT roster must have played, as defined by USA Rugby, for their

club in at least one tournament in their home GU.

8. NSCT rostered individuals should have government issued picture ID on tournament day as

identities may be subject to verification during the event.

Eligibility 9. Teams and players must follow all of the rules dictated by USA Rugby policy which you may

view here. 10. Eligibility issues should be brought to the attention of the Tournament Director and Northeast

Sevens Executive Director (or designated representative). 11. Non-compliance risks potential disciplinary action and forfeiture of tournament results;

players may not be allowed further participation on the day. 12. Do not cross roster on game day between teams or divisions at the NCST. 13. If a club is attempting to qualify two (2) teams for the USA Rugby Club 7s National

Championship the Northeast Sevens Director must be informed prior to the NSCT. Please refer to Section 9.1 of the USA Rugby Eligibility Regulations for further information. a. Two (2) separate rosters must be maintained throughout the NSCT with no transfer of players between those rosters at any time.

Disciplinary Procedures 14. If a player in the tournament receives three (3) Yellow Cards, for any reason, during the

tournament (i.e. the Yellow Cards could be from different games) they will be deemed to have been given a Red Card and therefore will be dismissed from the field of play for the remainder of the tournament. 15. If a player in the tournament receives two (2) Yellow Cards, for any reason, during the same

game they shall be sent off with a Red Card as covered in the Laws of the Game. 16. The Tournament Director and Northeast Sevens Executive Director (or a designated

representative) are to be kept apprised of Red Cards issued during competition.
