Grace Pentecostal Tabernacle serves the twin townships of Ship Cove‐Raleigh. The assembly is vibrant in worship and has a tremendous heart for outreach. They have an evident love for their God and their church. The current challenges of rural out port have had a definitive impact on this assembly. Its active Church Board is keenly aware of the near‐future impact of these challenges and has been proactive in seeking a working solution to the problem. They have partnered with the PAONL and the assembly at St. Lunaire‐Griquet (1/2 hour away) to move toward a secure future. As a part of the transition period, Pastor Joy Baker (wife of Wayne Baker, Senior Pastor at St. Lunaire‐Griquet) is commuting to Ship Cove‐Raleigh to give pastoral care and leadership to the assembly. These communities have had the good seed of the Gospel planted in their hearts for a lot of years – pray that it yet yields a harvest for the Kingdom! Pray that the assembly remains strong in heart and spirit so that they may continue to shine a bright light even in challenging times. Pray for Joy as she travels “to and from” to do ministry there – especially in the winter months. Pray for a successful precedent‐setting initiative as it unfolds in this area.
