Colour & protection for garden wood

Ronseal have teamed up with the Woodland Trust to develop a range of garden colours that colour and protect the wood in your garden. Inspired by UK woodland these long lasting, fade resistant colours have been developed to complement the natural colours in your garden. The fade resistant formulation locks colour into your garden wood with an opaque matt finish that allows the natural characteristics of the wood to show through. The durable formula resists cracking and peeling delivering long lasting colour whilst the added waxes waterproof and protect your exterior wood from the rigours of the weather, what ever the season. WHERE SHOULD IT BE USED? Ronseal Woodland Trust Colours are ideal for use on any garden softwood. They can be used on rough sawn timber or smooth planed wood, including sheds, fences, trellis, garden furniture, planters, arches or any other garden softwood. They can be used on new wood or wood that has been stained previously with a similar colour. For hardwood garden furniture use Ronseal Furniture Oil or Ronseal Hardwood Furniture Stain. For wood in contact with the ground, use a suitable wood preserver. Please note Ronseal Woodland Trust Colours are not suitable for use on decking. HOW MANY COATS? 2 coats are normally sufficient, although further coats will add depth to the colour and provide additional protection. COVERAGE: On smooth planed wood 750ml will cover up to 8m2 with 2 coats. On rough sawn timber 750ml will cover up to 4m2 with 2 coats. DRYING TIMES: Touch dry in 1 – 2 hours, allowing 4 hours between coats.

PREPARATION: Make sure the wood is clean and dry. Finishes such as paint and varnish must be completely removed. For rough swan timber, remove any dirt, moss, fungal growth and lichens with a stiff brush. On smooth planed, weathered and previously stained wood, sand to remove loose wood fibres and wipe off any dirt, dust or grease with white spirit and allow to dry thoroughly. Avoid the inhalation of dust, wear a suitable face mask when sanding. For the best possible finish use a good quality brush designed for the application of water-based finishes. Colour label indicates approximate colour only. The treatment of a test area to determine the final colour is recommended. APPLICATION: 1. Stir well before and during use. 2. Apply even coats finishing in the direction of the grain. Ronseal Woodland Trust Colours are also suitable for use with any Ronseal Sprayer, refer to Sprayer user guide. 3.
