Tonight, the Yeshiva University women’s basketball team will play the City College of New York at Nat Holman Gymnasium. YU will be the official home team for the contest. Yeshiva is coming off a 68-59 victory over Pratt, back on December 18. The Maccabees’ defense did not allow the Cannoneers to convert on a field goal for the remaining 4:06 of the game. Nicole Bick scored a career-high 31 points, while Michal Alge (17 points and 13 rebounds) and Celia Cohen (10 points and 10 rebounds) each produced double-doubles. Alge has already produced nine double-doubles so far this season. She is currently ranked second in the Skyline with an average of 15.1 rebounds per game. Thanks to her strong effort, Alge has earned a spot on the Skyline Conference Weekly Honor Roll in each of the first five weeks to start the season. She also earned Honorable Mention accolades by the Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association, back on December 4. For the season, Bick leads the team with an average of 16.2 points per game. Alge is averaging a double-double with 13.9 points and 15.1 rebounds per game. She also leads the team with an average of 1.9 assists per contest, 34 total steals, and eight blocked shots.
