Taking Part England’s Survey of Culture, Leisure and Sport

Your views matter. This survey helps the Government decide how they should spend public money on arts, sports and other facilities in your local area and across England. All you need to do is answer some questions about how you like to spend your free time.

Over 50% of people in England have visited a museum or gallery. We’re expanding the free-entry scheme to make it possible for more people to visit museums.

We learnt that people go to the library to use the internet, so we spent £2.4m to get free, good quality WiFi in all of England’s public libraries. 99% of libraries now have free WiFi.

We know that people from less well-off areas don’t visit cultural and heritage sites as much as other people, so a new scheme will help selected schools to organise trips to museums and galleries for their pupils.

Art for everyone If you don’t live in London you’re less likely to have gone to an art exhibition, so we’re introducing a new scheme to support touring exhibitions across the country.

Keep fit One in four people haven’t done any physical activity in a few years - so we’ve tripled our investment into helping people become more active.
