Youth Fair Track & Field draw record number of students, schools MIAMI, Fla. – April 8, 2015 – Three meet records were set at the Miami-Dade County Youth Fair & Expo Track and Field on Saturday, April 4, with the South Dade boys running away with the title and the Carol City girls tying with Ferguson girls. “It’s our privilege to be a sponsor of such an important high school track and field event and to give so many student athletes the opportunity to compete with their peers from across Miami-Dade County,” said Robert Hohenstein, president and CEO of The Youth Fair. For the third year in a row, the competition was a smash hit with the 33 participating schools. The overall athlete registration increased to 948 athletes, up from 800 last year. With the addition of a couple of extra consolation distance races, the overall event entries jumped to 1,525, more than 200 over last year and more than 400 from the year before, according to Ryan Raposo, meet director and coach at John A. Ferguson Senior High School. The Ferguson boys team took second place.
