THE YORKTOWN WRESTLING CLUB 18th ANNUAL GOLF TOURNAMENT
RE: Sponsorships The Yorktown Wrestling Club is preparing to host its 18th annual Florida Best Ball Golf Tournament on Sunday, October 2. We are excited to announce that this year, once again, our tournament will be held at the Muncie Elks Golf Course. Our committee has begun the organization process to strive to host a quality event, all while raising funds for the Yorktown Wrestling Club. A key component to raising funds at a golf outing is through sponsorships. This year we will be offering course sponsorships and food and concessions sponsorships for $50. We are striving to get a minimum of 50 course and concessions sponsorships. Along with the course and concessions sponsorships, we are offering cart sponsorships as well. Cart sponsorships are $25 and we are striving to get 20-40 cart sponsors. We will also be featuring a “Hole-In-One” contest that will be available for sponsorships of $100+. Historically, sponsors have come in many forms, such as businesses, individuals, or alumni. In return for your donation, we will have a sign made with your name, or business's name on it, and it will be displayed at the Muncie Elks Golf Course during our tournament. If you are unable to make a monetary donation, but would like to donate items for door prizes, we will gladly accept these items and put you on a banner. What a great way to support one of your most successful athletic organizations in the area! It would also put your businesses’ name in front of several local golfers. The Yorktown Wrestling Club is in its 23rd year of existence. A board of directors, consisting mainly of parents and coaches, governs our club with our main objective of offering a positive program for the kids in our community, and to also help them develop mentally and physically as individuals. Over the years, our club has included participants from the ages of 4 to 18. Our club supports K–12 wrestlers from around East Central Indiana, including all of Yorktown Community Schools. We had a great season this past year where the Tiger Wrestlers were the ISWA Folkstyle State “Small Club” Team State Champions. Twelve Yorktown wrestlers earned 19 ISWA top 8 finishes, with two Yorktown wrestlers, Jensen Boyd (50/55 lbs) and Kaid Jackson (45 lbs), earning two 1st place finishes each at the Freestyle and Greco State Tournament. The Yorktown High School team placed 3rd at the 2016 Indiana High School Team State and had 6 wrestlers qualify for IHSAA State Wrestling Tournament. Senior wrestler, Cael McCormick, will be attending Army West Point and wrestling for the Black Knights. Alara Boyd, won the Cadet Women’s Body Bar National Championship, and earned a spot to wrestle for Team USA at the Cadet World Competition in Tbilisi, Georgia (Europe) in September.
