Opening & Minutes Approval – Tom Approval of March Minutes

Financial Review – Chad A financial summary was passed out and reviewed. A second treasurer is needed for D&D tournament. Follow up with Ken to see if he is still available. Board approved paying for a head 12U coach and an assistant 14U coach intern. Both have been interviewed and offered positions.
7:20 – 7:30p
Update on Field Conditions and Assignments – Mike Per City, fields will be open 5/1/14. We are hoping warmer weather helps move the date up to April. Can use JV and HS fields, but HS has precedence. No rights to use NV 6 & 7. Plan to use same system as last year for field assignments.
7:30 – 7:45p
Down & Dirty Update – Eric 99 teams signed up. Teams will need an ASA roster to play. 4/18 is the deadline for the tshirt design. Consider pre-orders for shirts to cut down on waste & too many extras. All board members need to be available to help during the tournament June 13-15 if possible.

Requirements to create a new MN Stars team – Sue We need a plan in place now if a new STARS team is on the horizon.

Provide college recruitment information for players to outside organizations – Sue Tabled until a later meeting.

ACE Certification – Tom ACE (Achieve, Certify, Educate) is a coaching certification program developed and designed to provide softball coaches an opportunity to certify as a coach with a national softball organization. Cost is $25. This is in line with the direction of Tri County as they encourage the certification for all head coaches. The Board approved reimbursing the cost for EFP head coaches.

Possibility of EFP summer camps – Eric Discussed having softball camps available through the high school or community education to fill a gap for ages 5-10 to learn about the sport and feed into EFP. Reach out to Melissa at EHS about putting together a camp for this year in late July-August timeframe and going forward for next year.
