2018 Eagles Nest Rug School Instructors Gail Dufresne: Gail has been teaching for over 25 years. She teaches an open class and incorporates unusual materials in rug hooking. She teaches all cuts and loves to play with color, textures and geometrics. Her class can include proddy and sculpturing techniques. Designs range from floral to geometrics to pictorials to animals in all cuts. Her work has been in five (5) Celebrations. She is the author of Geometric Hooked Rug. Visit her website at www.goathilldesigns.com
Cynthia Norwood: Cynthia fell in love with rug hooking in 1980. Her work has changed over the years from the original fine-cut to wide-cut primitive to antique-looking rugs. While she is comfortable teaching all types, she prefers primitives and wide cuts. She loves for you to bring your own favorite fabrics and then incorporate unique pieces from her stash including antique paisley shawls to create a distinctive, personal and wonderful rug. Color planning is definitely one of her strong suits and she will share with you her thought process along with dyeing tips. She will work with any design or self-drawn pattern and also enjoys taking an incomplete rug you don't like and making it sing. She is a member of ATHA, and McGowan. She has written articles for "Rug Hooking Magazine", "ATHA Magazine" . She has been in Celebrations several times. Cynthia was a judge for Celebrations and has written two (2) books: Creating Antique Look in Hand Hooked Rugs and Primitive Rugs for the 21st Century You will enjoy every minute in this class and this is her last planned camp performance.
Cindi Gay: Cindi usually teaches at home in her studio or on the internet. She has online courses and free LIVE! rug hooking lesson every week at rughooklive.com. This class is packed with tips and techniques for all styles of hooking. The topics discussed in class will be determined by the students so be prepared to be curious. Cindi brings a wide variety of hand dyed wool, textures and overdyes to support all styles of rug hooking. You can hook anything with the right wool, and Cindi will show you how. Cindi's awardwinning pictorial "Village of Pemberville" won a National Best of Show as well as Reader's Choice for Celebration XIII. Cindi is the author of the how to books, Pictorials Basics: Pine Trees, Grass and Sky. Dyeing without Dye and Dyeing by the Numbers Visit cindigay.com for more information.

Old House Assembly Demonstration by Joyce O'Hara You have seen these wonderful houses all over the web. Joyce wrote an article on these houses for ATHA magazine (February/March 2017) This Tuesday evening class will be a demonstration of making the base for the cottage and chimney, hooking the pattern and final assembly. The demo will show the house in various states. This will make hooking and assembly of the house much easier. If you choose to purchase the pattern from eaglesnestwoolens.com in advance of camp and get started, you can follow along with the demonstration. Note: The pattern requires some zig-zagging and reinforcement of corners with a sewing machine before starting to hook. No sewing machine will be available at the demonstration. Cost: $85.00 Includes pattern, assembling materials and demonstration OR
$35.00 If you have already purchased pattern. Includes demonstration & assembling kit.
This class will be held Tuesday, April 17, 2018 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM
