easyCar Club brings ‘Random Acts of Kindness’ to Hackney East London borough rewarded for being at the heart of the UK’s car-sharing economy st

1 September, Hackney, London, UK: Residents of the London borough of Hackney will be treated to a varied programme of good deeds from Monday, thanks to a new initiative from easyCar Club.

Over the coming weeks, lucky Hackney residents will be offered free car washes, free fuel when topping up , have their car parking paid for them, and be given a surprise by having their MOT or annual st

car insurance paid for them thanks to the scheme. Activities will kick off from Monday 1 September to coincide with the original Random Acts of Kindness Day. To stay abreast of new giveaways, Hackney residents will need to keep an eye on easyCar Club’s Facebook and Twitter profiles, where news will be shared as and when new initiatives are taking place.

What: Random Acts of Kindness When: September Where: Throughout the borough of Hackney

easyCar Club is undertaking these acts of kindness to thank Hackney residents for being the most enthusiastic early adopters of its peer-to-peer car hire service, since it launched in London in 2013. The borough of Hackney and its surrounds is currently home to numerous cars which can be rented through the Club, and in the surrounding area there are more than 2,000 fully vetted renter members. Earlier this month the company gifted the borough its own Hackney cab, decorated in a traditional East End ‘pearly’ livery, which can now be rented for just £10 per day through the site. All proceeds raised by the initiative are being donated to the St Joseph’s Hospice on Mare Street.

easyCar Club is a service which allows its members to make money by renting out their cars to other drivers when they are not using them. Drivers save money through low cost, more convenient local car hire. Peer-to-peer car rental is an integral part of the ‘sharing economy’ which has seen particularly strong growth in East London in recent years. Richard Laughton, easyCar CEO, comments: “Hackney has been a big supporter of peer-to-peer services like ours, so we thought it was time to give something back. Following on from our successful ‘Pearly Cab’, which launched earlier this month, we hope these activities will help put an even bigger smile on the faces of Hackneyites.”
