Editing the PowerPoint flyer template: Directions for PC users

EDIT THE TEXT ON THE FLYER Open the PowerPoint file that corresponds with the activity you will be making a flyer for. Change the placeholder information to reflect the new activity. To add additional text on the flyer, add a “Text Box” to any open area.

Update the title of the flyer to reflect needs. Update the text box that indicates the activity name and date.

Click the text box to add your own slogan or additional information.

Click on the text box that holds contact information and change accordingly.

CHANGE THE BACKGROUND PICTURE ON THE FLYER You can download additional pictures for the flyer on the CYP E-Library under YSF Marketing Toolkits. Save the pictures in a folder easily accessible on your computer. To change the activity photo in the background, go to the “View” menu, then select the “Slide Master”.

After opening the Slide Master make sure that the top slide is selected in the menu bar on the left. Then, right click on the flyer with the mouse, or hold the control button and click on the flyer, and choose the “Change Picture” option from the menu that appears. From there, find the photo you previously saved (in your computer files) and choose the photo.

SAVE THE FLYER AS A PDF Once you have finished editing your flyer, you can save it to your computer as a PDF or print it directly from PowerPoint. To save your flyer as a PDF, go to the “File” menu and select “Save As”. In the “Save As” dialog box, click on “Browse” and select a location on your computer to save your file. Type a new name for your flyer in the “File Name” text box. From the “Save as type” box, select the PDF option and then click “Save”.

PRINT THE FLYER To print from PowerPoint, go to the “File” menu and select the “Print” option. In the print dialog box, select the “Scale to Fit Paper” option and click “Print”. Note: Before printing, be sure to review the flyer to double-check your work. Then, print a sample in grayscale to see if the spacing between the numbers and letters is correct before printing numerous full color flyers.
