ELIC THAILAND TRIP DESCRIPTION Ultimate Goal: This trip is essentially a soul-care ministry that exists to fuel the work of personnel in the English Language Institute/China (ELIC) who are serving in Asia to share the Good News for the Father’s glory in Asia. Prayer Team Goal & Vision: The prayer team for ELIC’s 2015 Annual Thailand Conference will go as ministers of grace. The goal is to encourage, counsel, and pray with or for ELIC staff and personnel. The team will embrace those in need, encourage the volunteers from America, organize and run a prayer and worship room in the hotel, and take a prayer walk. Such an organized, concentrated effort to pray, listen, and encourage is vital to the enabling of saints abroad to stand firm under trial and be successful in the sharing of God’s word. A Glance at the Prayer Room: This will be the main focus of the trip. The team will serve through leading worship and by being available in the room to read Scripture or pray one-on-one with those who come in and ask for it. Basic Team Member Job Description: You should have no trouble coming ready to pray, because you have been praying for weeks in preparation. Many weary souls will be incredibly blessed by your words of grace! • Be Available. There is no telling how many people will come to you for prayer. The prayer room will need to have a few people in it at all times available to pray. As another means of encouragement, you might also eat meals with people when you feel led to do so. • Be flexible. This is a short-term trip to Asia. The unexpected is inevitable, so be ready for it. • Participate. Be observant of your teammates needs; volunteer to lead devotions; be willing to up date the blog; encourage those around you. • Debrief. After conference is over it will be healthy and beneficial for the team to debrief together. The team will plan to stay an extra night in Chiang Mai to reflect on the week, fellowship, and rest. TRIP DIFFICULTY Level 2 If considering this trip, we ask that you be a Christian who has had an active relationship with God for two years or longer. TEAM LEADER Genevieve Greathouse (and TBA)
