Endowed Scholarships CHAPTER SPECIFIC In addition to the general scholarships available, students may apply for the scholarships below restricted by chapter. Scholarships are for fully initiated members of Sigma Alpha Mu Fraternity. BETA (Cornell) Dennis Paese Scholarship: Endowed by Foundation Director and chapter advisor Paese (Beta/Cornell ’70) to support an undergraduate Criteria: Financial need Open To: Beta chapter undergraduate Amount: $1000 ETA (Syracuse) Marshall M. Gelfand Scholarship Criteria: Financial need, 2.5 GPA, Business/Management students with an accounting major Open To: Undergraduate fratres, sophomores or above, with preference to Eta chapter Amount: $1100 Walter Rose Scholarship Criteria: Demonstrated qualities of leadership and loyalty to Sigma Alpha Mu and Alma Mater Open To: Undergraduate fratres of Eta Amount: $1200 Morris Family Scholarship Criteria: TBA Open To: Undergraduates fratres of Eta chapter Amount: $500 THETA (Univ. of Penn) Theta Scholarship Criteria: Financial need, chapter leadership & commitment, 3.0 GPA or above Open To: Undergraduate fratres with preference to Theta chapter Amount: $1100 Max M. Theta Centennial Scholarship: Created by the alumni of the Theta chapter in honor of SAM's 100th year. Smith Memorial Scholarship: This award was endowed in honor of Leonard H. Smith, Mu Theta ’48, a founding member of his chapter, by his son, Dr. Robert A. SCHOLARSHIPS FOR CANADIAN FRATRES Bora Laskin Scholarship: This award was endowed by ΣAM Foundation of Canada in memory of outstanding Canadian brother Bora Laskin (Toronto ’35).
